Všem dobře známé Rusko. Svět neomezených možností. Svět dvou tváří – chudého venkova a bohatých velkoměst. Svět s pevným vůdcem, pro kterého většina Ruska žije. Nedávné průzkumy ukázaly, že by třetina lidí v Rusku volila neexistující osobu jen proto, že jim to Vladimir Putin poradil. To, a ještě mnohem víc, je Rusko. Pojďme se ale podívat na 21 zajímavostí, které jste o největším státu světa nevěděli.
1. Hotel Astoria v Petrohradě je místo, kde Hitler plánoval po dobytí města uspořádat obrovský slavnostní banket.
2. Největší muzeum – Hermitage, také v Petrohradě – je domovem asi 70 koček, které chrání slavná díla před hlodavci. Tradice vznikla v roce 1745 za vlády císařovny Alžběty, dcery Petra Velikého, zakladatele sv. Petersburg.
3. Název Rudé náměstí nemá nic společného s komunismem, ale pochází ze slova “krasnyi”, který kdysi znamenal “krásný”.

4. Na stanici metra Ploshchad Revolutsii je bronzová socha psa, kterému se leskne čenich. Leskne se z jednoduchého důvodu – samotné šáhnutí na tento čenich má přinést hodně štěstí.
5. Tato bronzová socha psa v metru není jediná. Můžeme zde najít i památník Laiky – feny, která se jako první živý tvor dostala na oběžnou dráhu.
6. Kdekdo by řekl, ze Rusové jsou na tom v pití alkoholu nejlépe na světe, ale není tomu tak! Rusové jsou “až” čtvrtými největšími pijáky na světě za Běloruskem, Moldavskem a Litvou.

17. Ostrov Olkhon, největší na jezeře Bajkal, je ohnisko šamanismu. Šamanská skála se nachází na západním pobřeží.
18. Lze ho navštívit i bez víza, ale musíte využít trajekt na trase Helsinky – Petrohrad.
19. Rusové jednou postavili kruhovou válečnou loď.
20. Kdysi Rusové měli v úmyslu vybudovat úžasnou dálnici o délce 12 400 kilometrů spojující Atlantik a Tichomoří.
21. Michail Gorbačov nahrál album romantických balad. Vladimir Putin zase DVD s bojovým sportem judo.
